Dr. Wilhite is a highly respected optometrist, educator, and leader in the optometry community. Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, he earned his undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, where he met his wife and professional partner, Dr. Tara LeBlanc.Dr. Wilhite completed advanced clinical training in ocular disease and specialty contact lenses at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans and the VA Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as well as pediatric optometry training at the Holliman Eyecare Clinic in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Currently, Dr. Wilhite specializes in dry eye disease management, specialty contact lens fitting, and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. He is the owner of Greater New Orleans Eyecare and a trusted resource for both patients and colleagues seeking cutting-edge solutions for complex eye conditions.
A recognized leader in his profession, Dr. Wilhite has served as President of the Optometric Association of Louisiana and chaired multiple committees, including the Third Party Committee and Carrier Advisory Committee. In 2021, he was named Young Optometrist of the Year in Louisiana and was later nominated for Young Optometrist of the Year by the American Optometric Association. He is an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Association of Louisiana.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Wilhite is an in-demand speaker and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for leading eye care companies, sharing his expertise in ocular surface disease, specialty lenses, and practice innovation at conferences and educational events nationwide.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Wilhite enjoys fishing, golfing, and traveling with Dr. LeBlanc and their four children—especially to the beach and Disney World.

Dr. Tara LeBlanc, O.D., M.O.T.Dr. LeBlanc is originally from Baton Rouge, LA. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University along with her Master's in Occupational Therapy from LSU Health Sciences. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. LeBlanc completed her residency training in Low Vision and Geriatrics from University of Alabama Birmingham. Dr. LeBlanc also completed training in ocular disease from Sidney Hillman Health Center in Chicago, IL.
